Snow on Easter Monday

In our region (center of Belgium) snow at this time of the season is rather unusual  (1982).  But spring is in the air.  It won't take that long before shrubs an perennials unburden themselves from their melting weight.
In the morning it is still snowing
The small orchard and the vegetable garden covered with snow
Helleborus orientalis and helleborus Nigercors Pink

The euphorbia myrinites and the tiny yellow tulips in the jar are a good combination even without snow
The opening flowers and the magnificent fresh yellow leaves of Sambucus plumosa "aurea" covered with snow
(A lot of pictures on the other sites)

What is blooming at this moment ? (1.03.2008)

crocus "remembrance"
Nice colour combination of euonymus fortunei "gaiety " and crocus vernus "remembrance"
Helleborus orientalis
 Helleborus Nigercors "Pink"
Mahonia    “Charity”
It is a beautiful impressive winter-flowering shrub.
Evergreen with spiky, dark leaves and lily-of-the-valley scented yellow flowers which appear late winter.
The wonderfully scented flowers in late winter, early spring, are an added bonus for this distinguished evergreen shrub. Mahonia is relatively slow-growing. Once planted, it  needs no further care, apart from the occasional removal of dead wood.  Mahonia is in flower for a considerable time. Prefers moist soil.
